Cashless authorization, claim admissibility and final approval depend on the customer’s policy terms, insurer approval, survey findings and applicable network/cashless arrangements.
Sharing documents without unnecessary exposure
The following planning guidance explains a specific part of the workshop process. It does not claim special Universal Sompo benefits or replace the insurer’s policy wording and claim instructions.
Use a small first enquiry
Start with the vehicle model, location, insurer name and damage concern. The workshop can explain its next inspection step from those basics. Avoid posting registration or policy documents publicly in comments, social posts or an open photo gallery.
Check who requested the document
If someone asks for identity or bank information, confirm their role through the insurer’s official contact process. The workshop does not need your insurer account password or OTP. A familiar display name on a message is not verification of its sender.
Keep a record of what was sent
Note the document, recipient, channel and date when responding to a legitimate request. If a technical photograph is enough to answer a workshop question, do not attach unrelated personal records. Ask the insurer about secure submission options for sensitive claim information.
Useful preparation for this enquiry
- Basic vehicle and damage information
- A confirmed claim reference, if one exists
- The exact document request and confirmed recipient
Should I give an insurer-account OTP to the workshop?
No. Keep OTPs and login credentials private and use the insurer’s own process for your account actions.
