“Old-to-new” describes exterior styling. Your original manufacture year, chassis/VIN and registered identity stay the same. An exterior upgrade does not add a newer generation’s engineering or safety features.

Provide the full model name and manufacture year, including EV or other distinct variant details. Keep classic Safari, Safari Storme and later Safari entries separate, and identify Nexon, Punch or Harrier versions accurately instead of assuming that similar names mean matching parts.

What the assessment needs to establish
The exact model year and fitted equipment matter more than a kit’s marketing name.
- Model, generation, manufacture year and powertrain identity.
- The proposed components and their intended vehicle application.
- Existing lamps, cameras, sensors and openings in affected panels.
- Damage, mounting condition and previous non-original work.
- Accepted refinishing, access and functional checks.
Scope and practical limits
An ICE-model and an EV-model appearance must not be used as evidence of interchangeable parts. High-voltage or other specialist work is outside a simple exterior styling assumption and requires separately confirmed capability and scope.

Share the vehicle
Give the original year, model, variant, previous body repairs and clear exterior photographs. Show us the look you want.

Check the fit
Arrange an inspection of mounting points, body condition, fitted lights and equipment. Confirm parts, technical requirements and applicable approvals.

Agree the scope
Review an itemised parts and labour proposal, finish expectations and any work outside the accepted scope. Timing follows the assessment and parts confirmation.

Review the result
Inspect panel gaps, secure fittings, paint finish and the operation of affected equipment. Keep the work record and any required approval documents.

Plan the work with the paperwork.
Before work starts, confirm whether the proposed changes are permitted under the Motor Vehicles Act and Central Motor Vehicles Rules, and whether registration-authority approval or an RC endorsement is required. Lighting and body changes must satisfy the applicable requirements; a fitting kit is not proof of legal approval.
Discuss any proposed alteration with your insurer. A styling upgrade is not automatically an insured repair or a cashless claim. Parts sourcing, specialist calibration and compliance documentation must be confirmed for the individual job.

Can an EV and a combustion-model Tata use the same facelift package?
Do not assume that they can. Give the exact model and powertrain, then request an assessment of the proposed parts and the areas affected. Similar styling does not establish compatibility.
Can a classic Safari become a newer Safari through bodywork?
No appearance change makes the original vehicle a different model or platform. An older-car restoration or styling enquiry must retain its accurate original identity and be assessed on its own terms.
Can body repairs be quoted separately from the upgrade?
Yes. Ask for necessary repair work, optional styling components and finishing to be separately identified so you can make an informed decision about the scope.
