BMW old-to-new styling and facelift enquiries

A newer-looking BMW exterior needs more information than the series badge. CarTech Hub assesses the proposed styling work against the exact vehicle, with particular attention to body style, existing lighting and equipment that must continue to function correctly.

A NEW LOOK.
THE SAME VEHICLE.

“Old-to-new” describes exterior styling. Your original manufacture year, chassis/VIN and registered identity stay the same. An exterior upgrade does not add a newer generation’s engineering or safety features.

A CLEAR PLAN BEFORE PARTS

Exterior work to discuss with CarTech Hub

Provide the series, body style, manufacture year and chassis or generation reference if known. Distinguish a saloon from a Gran Turismo, Gran Coupé, long-wheelbase version or an X-model. Send current photographs as well as the appearance reference you want to discuss.

01

Coordinated body-kit assessment

Consider the intended bumper, grille, side-trim and rear-finish components as a complete proposal. Discuss the fitment information, brackets, finishes and access requirements before purchasing parts.

02

Headlight and taillight enquiries

A lighting enquiry includes more than the outer lens shape. The workshop needs the existing lamp specification and proposed unit details to decide whether fitment and electrical checks can be supported.

03

Exterior refinishing

Body repair, finish matching and trim renewal can be discussed separately from generation-inspired styling. Keep the original vehicle and the requested appearance clearly identified in the estimate.

COMPATIBILITY COMES FIRST

What the assessment needs to establish

The exact model year and fitted equipment matter more than a kit’s marketing name.

  • Series, body style and generation identification from the vehicle records.
  • Part numbers and supplier fitment evidence for the proposed components.
  • Existing lighting, parking sensors, cameras and other fitted equipment.
  • Mounting points and the condition of previously repaired areas.
  • Any programming, calibration or specialist dependency before acceptance.

Scope and practical limits

A facelift cannot turn an older BMW into a newer-generation vehicle or add the newer car’s engineering by appearance alone. Electronic compatibility, supported diagnostic work and any required specialist checks must be established before acceptance; no fault-free plug-and-play result is assumed.

FROM AN IDEA TO AN AGREED JOB

Four steps. A clear scope.

CarTech Hub’s workshop is in Sawkuchi, Guwahati. If you are travelling from elsewhere in Assam or Northeast India, discuss your vehicle before arranging the journey.

  1. 01

    Share the vehicle

Give the original year, model, variant, previous body repairs and clear exterior photographs. Show us the look you want.

  2. 02

    Check the fit

Arrange an inspection of mounting points, body condition, fitted lights and equipment. Confirm parts, technical requirements and applicable approvals.

  3. 03

    Agree the scope

Review an itemised parts and labour proposal, finish expectations and any work outside the accepted scope. Timing follows the assessment and parts confirmation.

  4. 04

    Review the result

Inspect panel gaps, secure fittings, paint finish and the operation of affected equipment. Keep the work record and any required approval documents.

YOUR CAR. YOUR IDEA.

Let’s plan
the right upgrade.

Start with the vehicle you own and the look you have in mind. We’ll confirm the work that can be accepted after checking the vehicle, parts and applicable requirements.

All existing vehicle entries remain available for enquiries. A listing does not confirm a conversion kit or workshop capability for that model.

Use the original year, not the look you want.

Hello CarTech Hub, I would like a modification assessment. Vehicle: BMW Please confirm feasibility, parts, required approvals and an inspection appointment.

Supported years, parts and the accepted scope are confirmed after inspection. No kit availability is implied by this selection.

Read the relevant modification guide →You can review the WhatsApp message before sending it. Add exterior photos and a reference for your preferred look when speaking to the workshop. If you book instead, include the manufacture year, generation and desired look in the booking notes.
IDENTITY, APPROVALS & INSURANCE

Plan the work with the paperwork.

Before work starts, confirm whether the proposed changes are permitted under the Motor Vehicles Act and Central Motor Vehicles Rules, and whether registration-authority approval or an RC endorsement is required. Lighting and body changes must satisfy the applicable requirements; a fitting kit is not proof of legal approval.

Discuss any proposed alteration with your insurer. A styling upgrade is not automatically an insured repair or a cashless claim. Parts sourcing, specialist calibration and compliance documentation must be confirmed for the individual job.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Your modification questions.

Clear answers about the vehicle, the intended look and the next step.

Does a BMW 3 Series kit fit every 3 Series?

No blanket fitment is assumed. Identify the body style, generation and existing equipment, then supply the proposed kit details. The shared series name is only the start of the enquiry.

Can newer-style lamps simply replace the existing lights?

The exact units must be assessed. Mounting, connectors, lamp functions and any electronic dependencies need to match the accepted scope. Do not purchase lamps solely because the advertised exterior shape looks suitable.

Will a styling upgrade add the features of a newer BMW?

Exterior styling does not establish the newer model’s safety, driver-assistance, electrical or mechanical specification. Discuss each requested function separately and retain accurate descriptions of the original vehicle.
