Make the first service enquiry fit a newly introduced PHEV
A plug-in hybrid needs an organised ownership record before maintenance advice can be reliable. MG's official introduction information, checked on 14 October 2026, gives planned November 2026 deliveries for the Hector Tomahawk PHEV. This page prepares future owners for questions they can ask once the actual India vehicle and documents are available. It does not imply completed CarTech Hub servicing of customer PHEVs before delivery.
CarTech Hub – Multi-Brand Car Workshop, Guwahati can discuss relevant inspection enquiries and confirm what its people and equipment support. A petrol engine, electric drive and rechargeable battery create separate technical responsibilities. Any high-voltage or specialised hybrid task must have a verified competent route; it cannot be inferred from general car-service experience.
Collect documents that identify the maintenance requirements
Keep the vehicle identification number, variant, delivery record, supplied service schedule and warranty information together. Add the approved charging-equipment documentation and any battery ownership or rental papers that apply. These records help separate a vehicle maintenance question from charger support, a warranty enquiry or an insurance issue.
Use the schedule delivered for this configuration
The Tomahawk PHEV is neither the electric-only Tomahawk nor an older mild-hybrid Hector. A conventional Hector booklet should not determine all its replacement requirements. Once available, the correct manufacturer schedule governs time- and mileage-related engine, fluid, filter and inspection work. Where a requirement is unclear, obtain the applicable information instead of inventing an interval from another MG car.
Do not let electric use obscure petrol-engine care
The combustion engine still needs the maintenance prescribed for it, even if many journeys use electrical propulsion. Record mileage and usage honestly without deciding that low engine operation cancels a time-related service. Oil specification, oil filtration, intake filtration and ignition components must be identified from the actual PHEV engine and schedule.
An owner should distinguish a scheduled replacement from a symptom-led repair. Rough running, a temperature warning or visible leakage requires appropriate assessment; it should not be hidden within an ordinary oil-change request. Fuel-system, cooling and mechanical work depend on qualified diagnosis. Engine overhaul or specialist hybrid powertrain repair is not promised in this guide, and any such enquiry needs capability confirmation before acceptance.
Define the high-voltage and charging boundary clearly
A charging interruption can involve the supply, equipment or vehicle, and an online description cannot identify which one is responsible. Give the appropriate support provider the warning text, timing and circumstances. Do not open charging devices, disturb orange cables, disconnect traction components or test live connections as a do-it-yourself exercise.
High-voltage battery, inverter, motor and hybrid-system work requires trained people, suitable tools and documented safety procedures. CarTech Hub does not advertise those capabilities on this page. Vehicle-side and premises-side electrical concerns may require different specialists. If damage, water exposure or a serious electrical warning is involved, seek advice about safe isolation and movement through a competent route rather than repeatedly trying to charge or drive the car.
Keep brakes, tyres and ordinary inspections in the plan
Electrified propulsion does not make friction brakes, steering, tyres or suspension maintenance optional. Tell the workshop about braking feel, noises, uneven wear and road impacts. Inspection should relate recommendations to the identified condition and actual vehicle specification, not to an assumption that regeneration prevents all brake wear.
Cabin filtration, wipers, lighting and visible exterior condition can be part of an agreed inspection. AC work needs particular clarity because the installed compressor and refrigerant procedure must be known. Low-voltage battery checks are separate from traction-battery diagnosis. Transmission-fluid, clutch or gearbox requests should wait for the correct technical identification; a PHEV badge does not establish a conventional manual clutch assembly or justify a generic automatic service.
Separate parts enquiries from systems certification
Potential requests may concern the correctly specified engine service items, cabin filter, brake components, tyres, suspension joints, wipers, lamps, mirrors or body fittings. A radiator, pump or hose request must identify the circuit and diagnosed fault because electrified vehicles can have distinct cooling needs. Parts from the EV or older Hector cannot be assumed compatible by name.
Part availability, technical compatibility, price and delivery time will be confirmed after verification of the MG model, variant and required component. Fitting an exterior panel or replacing an ordinary service item is not certification that the hybrid system is safe or fully diagnosed. The estimate should state the accepted work, any specialist dependency and what remains outside the workshop's verified scope.
Plan accident assessment before repair authorisation
After an incident, describe impact location, underbody contact, charging-port damage, warnings and water involvement. Photograph the visible condition only when safe, without dismantling the car or approaching potentially damaged electrical components. A body estimate may need additional structural, restraint, high-voltage or calibration assessment through appropriately equipped facilities.
CarTech Hub Multi-Brand Workshop, Guwahati provides MG vehicle accident repair and motor insurance claim assistance. Cashless repair availability is subject to the insurer, policy conditions, vehicle survey, claim approval and confirmed workshop or network eligibility.
Register the incident with the insurer through its official channel and retain the reference. Policy and vehicle details, licence information where requested, accident photographs and an account of the event support inspection and the repair estimate. The insurer can require survey and approval before work. Accident admissibility, repair or replacement decisions, deductibles, depreciation and excluded materials remain policy-dependent. Approval of a painted panel does not authorise unrelated engine maintenance or certify specialist hybrid safety work.
Ask for an appointment with a defined responsibility
Book Service for a clearly described inspection enquiry once the actual vehicle information is available. Call Now or WhatsApp CarTech Hub to establish capability before arranging arrival. The Tomahawk PHEV owner guide explains the broader service and parts context.
Use the PHEV accident guide and claim enquiry for workshop coordination. The official insurer directory provides registration buttons. Google reviews and workshop contact or directions help with visit planning; they do not imply manufacturer authorisation or specialist hybrid capability.
Official insurer claim channels
Choose your insurer’s official claim-intimation link. Submit policy and identity information directly through the insurer’s approved channel. Its process and cashless authorization remain subject to your policy and the assessed claim.
Quick answers
Which manual should determine Tomahawk PHEV maintenance?
Use the India documentation supplied for the actual plug-in hybrid variant. The electric-only Tomahawk and older mild-hybrid Hector schedules are not substitutes.
Can I decide engine oil is unnecessary because I usually drive electrically?
No. The petrol engine remains subject to its manufacturer maintenance requirements, including time-related work where specified. Confirm the actual schedule rather than estimating from electric usage.
Does replacing a PHEV bumper prove the hybrid system is safe?
No. Body repair and hybrid safety assessment are different scopes. Any damage-related high-voltage concern needs a verified specialist procedure and suitable personnel.
How should a new PHEV owner describe a charging interruption?
Record the message and circumstances without dismantling or live testing. The equipment, electrical supply and vehicle may need different qualified support routes; diagnosis should establish responsibility.
Vehicle and claim reference information
Use the manual for your exact vehicle and the issued insurance policy. These sources provide background and do not establish a workshop authorization or insurer tie-up.
