Assess visibility and secure the glass-damage scene
A Hyundai Grand i10 Nios windshield crack after a stone strike or collision deserves attention before the car is driven again. Describe whether the crack crosses the driver's view, reaches an edge or accompanies damage to the surrounding body. Do not press on damaged glass or attempt a home repair while deciding on a claim. Safe transport depends on the actual condition, rather than the size of one photographed chip.
Book a glass-damage inspection with CarTech Hub in Guwahati. We are an independent multibrand workshop, not an authorised Hyundai repair centre. The appointment helps establish the appropriate assessment and claim enquiry; it does not guarantee a glass repair method, replacement stock or Go Digit approval.
Confirm the insured event and own-damage cover
Go Digit General Insurance Limited currently offers car insurance. Review your own-damage cover, incident date, vehicle details, exclusions and any relevant add-on conditions. Third-party-only cover will not pay for your own Nios windshield. Worn wiper blades, routine glass polishing and old scratches are usually maintenance matters rather than accident claim items.
Explain the event accurately. A fresh crack following an identifiable impact is different from an old crack noticed while washing the car. The insurer assesses the stated cause and evidence under the policy. Do not describe every imperfection as recent impact damage simply because the glass is being inspected for replacement.
Notify Go Digit and organise the documents
Intimate Go Digit using its current official policy or claim contact route and save the reference. Follow the insurer's instructions about photographs, inspection and moving the car. There may be different assessment methods depending on the case; ask which applies instead of assuming a particular self-survey sequence or instant decision.
Prepare the policy, RC, driver's valid licence, completed claim form, photographs and workshop estimate. Capture the windshield as a whole and the impact area, plus surrounding roof or pillar damage if visible and safe. Provide an FIR or additional documents only where required by the incident or insurer. Original repair invoices and receipts should be retained for the later settlement record.
Specify the Nios glass and surrounding equipment
Record the VIN, manufacturing year and variant before selecting glass. Grand i10 Nios equipment and trim need to be identified on the individual vehicle. Confirm the actual glass specification, mouldings and any mounted or connected equipment. Hyundai's owner manual for the appropriate manufacturing period helps explain fitted features and warnings; optional descriptions are not proof that your car has every item.
If the collision also affected a roof edge or pillar, the work is more than a standalone glass enquiry. Structural or airbag-related concerns require qualified assessment and referral where appropriate. Any affected driver-assistance equipment needs its own specialist review if fitted. No camera calibration, structural repair or equipment capability is presumed at intake.
Compare the glass proposal with the survey findings
Ask the estimate to state the observed crack or breakage, the proposed glass operation, associated fittings, labour and any body or paint work. Discuss whether the assessed condition permits a repair option or requires replacement, without assuming either route is available or acceptable for every chip. The decision should consider the actual finding and appropriate technical guidance.
Wait for the insurer's instructed survey and approval before insured removal, dismantling or repair unless Go Digit permits otherwise. If temporary protection is necessary, obtain instructions and preserve evidence. Check that the approved scope identifies the relevant associated pieces; a single glass price should not hide unsettled questions about damaged trim or surrounding panels.
Document additional damage after authorised access
Removal authorised by the insurer may expose a damaged fitting or accident-related fault around the aperture that was not visible initially. Record the newly exposed evidence and submit a supplementary estimate. Obtain further approval before adding insured body, fitting or paint work. Agree any customer-paid item separately so the repair plan and owner contribution remain clear.
Distinguish an accident finding from age-related deterioration observed at the same time. A supplementary request should explain why the additional item is related to the incident. It should also show how the proposal changes labour, parts or the handover plan, instead of presenting an unexplained increase in the final invoice.
Review installation quality and delivery requirements
Complete the approved glass repair or replacement and any accepted surrounding paint work. At handover, review clear visibility, relevant wiper operation, trim seating and appropriate sealing checks. Follow the installation-specific safe-use instructions supplied with the work, including any stated adhesive-related restrictions. Do not assume that the car can leave immediately because the glass looks securely positioned.
Compare the final bill with the approvals and retain invoices, receipts and insurer-required documents. Clarify deductibles, depreciation and excluded items. Cashless processing depends on the policy, Go Digit approval, survey and workshop network confirmation. CarTech Hub's Go Digit cashless arrangement is confirmed; cashless assistance is subject to eligibility review. Confirm the payment route, your agreed share and applicable insurer release requirements before collection.
Send a useful glass-claim enquiry
Read the Go Digit assistance page, insurance claim guides, Nios service and parts article and Hyundai care hub.
Call 9864770033 or WhatsApp the windshield photographs, stating the car's year, how the crack appeared and whether the view is obstructed. Read Hyundai owner reviews before arranging the visit. Inspection, exact-part identification and approval establish the next step, without a fixed settlement or repair timeline.
Quick answers
Should I put tape across a windshield crack before photographing it?
Preserve clear evidence first if it is safe, and ask for handling instructions. Tape is not a repair and should not be relied on to establish that driving is safe.
Can I request a different tinted glass as part of the claim?
A specification change is not automatically an insured replacement. Confirm the correct original specification and discuss any proposed variation, legal suitability and customer cost before proceeding.
Does a windshield-only claim always include new wiper blades?
No. A worn blade is normally a maintenance item. Any accident-damage proposal for an associated part needs its own evidence and policy assessment.
Why might the handover instructions restrict washing the car?
The approved installation may carry instructions related to the adhesive or sealing process. Follow the written guidance supplied for that work rather than applying a general waiting period from another repair.
