A Rolls-Royce ownership discussion can contain several impressive technical names while leaving the actual complaint unclear. Planar, Flagbearer, all-wheel steering and Satellite Aided Transmission are not interchangeable descriptions. Understanding the distinction helps an owner report a concern without ordering the wrong kind of investigation.
Second-generation Ghost, introduced in 2020, is the focus of this guide. Its manufacturer-described petrol V12, all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering do not make it a hybrid. Nor does technology also discussed in electric Spectre publicity establish identical hardware, maintenance or repair procedures.
Begin with the function, then identify the system
Suspension supports the vehicle and manages its response to the road. Steering determines the wheels' direction. The drivetrain delivers propulsion. These functions interact, but an unusual sensation during a turn does not by itself establish which system needs attention.
Describe what you noticed in ordinary language: a warning, a change in ride, an unusual noise or an altered steering response. Include the location of the observation if known, without crawling under a vehicle or attempting to touch moving components. A useful owner account does not need to guess a component name.
Planar is more than a label for an air spring
Rolls-Royce describes Ghost's Planar suspension using an additional upper-wishbone damper together with electronically controlled damping and self-levelling air suspension. Treat that as an explanation of the system, not a list of parts that must all be replaced when ride comfort changes.
An enquiry about apparent ride-height change should identify the exact vehicle and condition. Ask what checks would be relevant and what information is needed before a provider accepts the task. There is no generic ride-height setting or owner reset instruction in this guide. Do not improvise lifting points or work beneath a car supported only by its suspension.
Road preview and gear selection answer different questions
Flagbearer uses camera information about the road ahead to prepare the suspension. Satellite Aided Transmission uses navigation information to assist gear selection. One concerns anticipating the road surface; the other concerns the transmission's selection strategy.
Those differences matter when documenting a warning or previous repair. A provider must identify the fitted equipment and applicable instructions rather than promising that a generic scanner reset will restore every function. Any proposed calibration or software operation should have a stated purpose, accepted access and a clear verification plan.
Do not confuse steering with propulsion
All-wheel steering means that steering action involves more than the front wheels. All-wheel drive concerns delivery of driving force. A vehicle can be described with either or both features, so a steering term is not evidence for a transfer-case part number or a propulsion layout.
Similarly, electrification should be identified from the actual powertrain, not from electrically operated doors, screens or chassis controls. Ghost's petrol-engine maintenance and Spectre's battery-electric ownership requirements belong in separate records. Use the Spectre ownership guide when the vehicle is the electric coupé.
Make the enquiry about one clear concern
For Guwahati roads, record whether the observation followed an impact, wheel change or other work. Describe the event honestly without claiming that local road conditions prove a particular failure. If steering or stability seems unsafe, stop safely and arrange professional advice about recovery; do not release the wheel in traffic to demonstrate a pull.
CarTech Hub – Multi-Brand Car Workshop can review the requested task through its Rolls-Royce information section. Confirmation must cover the particular model, technical requirements and any specialist arrangement before delivery. No manufacturer affiliation, chassis-programming access or Ghost-specific repair history is asserted here. Keep the agreed scope and any later findings together so future decisions are based on documented work.

Quick answers
Does an electrically controlled suspension mean Ghost is a hybrid?
No. Identify the propulsion system separately. The second-generation Ghost discussed here is a petrol V12 vehicle.
Are Flagbearer and Satellite Aided Transmission the same feature?
No. The former relates to camera-assisted road preview for suspension; the latter concerns navigation-assisted gear selection.
Does all-wheel steering prove a particular all-wheel-drive fault?
No. Steering and propulsion are different functions. The complaint and fitted systems must be investigated on the actual car.
