The records below separate verified official electric-car information from insurers whose EV-specific product evidence still needs confirmation. An unverified record does not mean the insurer refuses electric cars. Prepare the claim before authorising repairs
- Contact CarTech Hub with the BYD model, registration, variant and damage photographs; confirm supported work and safe vehicle acceptance before recovery.
- Notify the insurer through its official reporting channel and retain the claim reference.
- Prepare the policy schedule, registration certificate, relevant driver licence and requested identity documents. For fleet or commercial registration, the insurer may request additional permitted-use or registration documents; a model name alone does not establish policy class.
- Coordinate inspection or survey where required. The estimate identifies damaged parts, compatibility and supported repairs. Hidden damage or work requiring a specialist EV facility may need additional assessment and insurer authorization.
- Agree approved work, any specialist referral and customer-payable costs before repair. Deductibles, depreciation, non-covered consumables and unrelated wear can remain payable.
- Complete the agreed repairs, final inspection and claim documentation before vehicle delivery. The insurer controls admissibility and settlement; timing and requirements vary.
